Augusto Góngora, one of Chile’s top political commentators, diligently documented the atrocities of Pinochet’s regime so that the world would never forget. About a decade ago, he developed Alzheimer’s disease. His wife, former actress and Chilean Culture Minister Paulina Urrutia, who has been caring for him ever since, accompanies him on his heroic attempts to hold on to the fading fragments of his memories. Despite the disease slowly eating away at his mind, the intimacy and love between the two grows to remarkable proportions, transforming them both. Award-winning director Maite Alberdi (The Mole Agent) captures the couple in moments of frustration and happiness, as they say goodbye to their past and find new love and compassion toward each other. Featuring fascinating archival footage from Chilean history, this tender and incredibly touching film won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival.
